> Connect a wallet, add money, turn on one-tap trading and buy your first outcome, step by step

This guide takes you from nothing to an open position on a prediction market. It takes about five minutes if you already have USDC or ETH on Arbitrum One.

> **Info: What you need**
> A wallet (MetaMask, or any wallet that supports WalletConnect) holding USDC or ETH on the **Arbitrum One** network, plus a few cents of ETH for Arbitrum gas. If your money is on an exchange, withdraw it to your wallet on Arbitrum first.

1. **Connect your wallet** Open [hypertake.net](https://hypertake.net) and press **Connect wallet** (**Connect** on the phone). Choose MetaMask or WalletConnect and approve the connection in your wallet. On desktop you'll also be asked to sign one message for notifications; it can't move funds.
Result: Your address appears in the header. Hypertake can now read your Hyperliquid balance and positions.
2. **Add money** Press **Deposit**, choose USDC or ETH on Arbitrum, enter an amount and confirm in your wallet (USDC needs two confirmations: an approval for exactly this amount, then the deposit). Relay, an independent bridge, carries it to Hyperliquid as USDC.
Result: Your balance shows the USDC, usually within a minute. A brand-new Hyperliquid account pays a one-time activation fee of about $1. See [Deposits](https://hypertake.net/docs/money/deposit.md).
3. **Turn on one-tap trading** Open any market and press **Turn on one-tap trading** in the ticket. On mainnet your wallet asks for two signatures: approving Hypertake's builder fee (a maximum of 1%), then approving a trading key made in your browser. Do this after depositing: Hyperliquid won't approve a trading key for an empty account.
Result: Orders now go through without a wallet pop-up each time. See [Turn on one-tap trading](https://hypertake.net/docs/money/turn-on-trading.md).
4. **Pick a market** Open **Outcomes**. Markets closing soonest come first. Each card shows the question, a live chart against its strike, and the Yes and No prices. Open one to see its full chart and its rules.
5. **Buy** Choose Yes or No, enter an amount (the ticket starts at $10) and check **To win**: what your shares pay if you're right. Press **Buy** (on the phone, tap again to confirm).
Result: The order fills immediately against sellers on Hyperliquid, or not at all; nothing is left waiting. Your position appears under Your position.
6. **Sell, take profit or hold** Sell any time before the close at the current bid, set a take profit that sells by itself at your price, or hold until settlement, when each winning share pays $1 to your balance.

**Example: Maria buys Yes at 40¢**
- Maria thinks BTC will be above 81,355 at 15:00. Yes costs 40¢.
- She buys $10 of Yes: 25 shares at 40¢ each. Hypertake's fee on a buy: $0.
- If BTC settles above 81,355, her 25 shares pay $25: a $15 profit, less Hyperliquid's own settlement fee.
- If it settles below, the shares pay nothing and she loses the $10.

Flow: $10 from Maria's balance → 25 Yes shares at 40¢ → settlement → $25 (Yes) or $0 (No) back to her balance

- [Price is the chance](https://hypertake.net/docs/outcomes/price-is-the-chance.md): Why 40¢ means the market thinks 40%.
