Hypertake is an independent web interface for Hyperliquid's HIP-4 prediction markets (outcomes) and perpetual futures. You connect your own wallet; every order is placed, matched and settled on Hyperliquid, and your money stays in your own Hyperliquid account. Hypertake is not affiliated with or endorsed by Hyperliquid. Markdown of this page: https://hypertake.net/docs/how-it-works.md. Full documentation index: https://hypertake.net/llms.txt

How Hypertake works
You, your wallet, Hypertake and Hyperliquid: who does what in every trade
Every trade involves four parties: you, your wallet, Hypertake (the interface in your browser) and Hyperliquid (the blockchain that holds the money and runs the markets). Hypertake prepares orders and shows you the markets; Hyperliquid executes, matches and settles them.
Hypertake talks to Hyperliquid's public API directly from your browser. Your balance and positions live on Hyperliquid, under your own address.
The two keys
Hyperliquid accepts two kinds of signatures for your account, and Hypertake uses each for different things.
| Key | Where it lives | What it signs | What it can't do |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your wallet | Your wallet app (MetaMask, a WalletConnect wallet) | Turning on trading, approving the builder fee, every withdrawal | Nothing is signed without your confirmation in the wallet |
| The trading key | Your browser, encrypted, made on this device | Orders and cancels, leverage and margin changes | Withdraw or transfer funds (those need your wallet) |
The trading key is what lets an order go through in one click instead of a wallet pop-up each time. You approve it once with your wallet; it expires after 179 days, and you can turn it off. See The trading key.
What happens when you buy
Nothing in this flow passes through Hypertake's server. The order goes from your browser to Hyperliquid.
What Hypertake's server does
Hypertake runs a small server for things a browser can't do alone: it sends a ready-made snapshot of the markets so the first page appears instantly, and it delivers alerts (when a market you hold settles, for example). It stores your wallet address and sign-in session for those alerts, and nothing that can move money. See What we store.
