Opening a position

How to go long or short on Hyperliquid perps with Hypertake: leverage, amount, preview and one click on desktop

To open a perps position, choose Long or Short, set the leverage, enter your money and press the button. Before you press, Hypertake shows the position it makes, your liquidation price and the most you can lose. On desktop one click places the order; on the phone you tap twice.

On desktop

  1. Pick a market

Open Perps and choose one in the selector. See Perps markets.

  2. Choose a side

Press Long to gain if the price rises, or Short to gain if it falls.

  3. Set the leverage

Drag the Leverage slider, from 1× to the market's maximum. Or drag the amber liquidation line on the chart: on an isolated order that sets the leverage for you.

ResultThe liquidation line moves on the chart as you drag.

  4. Enter your money

Type into Your money, drag its slider, or press Max.

ResultUnder it: "Trades like $1,000 · 0.0125 BTC", the position you'll open.

  5. Check the summary

Read Position, Liquidation (and how far it is from the price) and Most you can lose. Open Profit breakdown to see the result if the price moves 1%, 5% or 10% either way.

  6. Check Order settings

The fold shows "Right away · Isolated" by default. Open it to choose When (Now or At my price) and What backs it (Isolated or Cross). See Order types.

  7. Press the button

It names the order: Go long · $1,000 (the position's value). One click sends it.

ResultA notice says it filled, at what average price, or that a limit order is on the book. The position appears in Positions and on the chart.

The app, with an exampleAn example on the real terminal components: a BTC long at 10×, its take profit set on the chart.

On the phone

  1. Open the market

Tap it in the Perps tab, then tap Long or Short at the bottom.

  2. Type your money

A full-screen order opens at $0, with nothing filled in. Type on Hypertake's keypad; tap ⇅ to type the size in the coin instead.

  3. Adjust leverage, TP / SL or type

Rows under the amount open their own sheets: Leverage (a slider with 1×, 2×, 5×, 10×, 20× and the maximum, Isolated or Cross, and the live liquidation), take profit and stop loss, and Market ▾ for the order type.

  4. Tap twice

The button names the order, such as Open long · $100 (your money). The first tap turns it into Confirm · Open long · $100 for 5 seconds; the second places it. Changing anything disarms it.

ResultA market order shows its estimated fill before you tap ("fills ≈ 80,012").

The phone asks one more question only when an order is unusually risky: leverage of 20× or more, more than half of what you have available, or an estimated fill more than 1% from the price on a thin book. A short risk sheet lists why, with the position, liquidation and fee, before you confirm. The phone also refuses to place an order on a price more than 15 seconds old.

What the button tells you

Until the order is valid, the desktop button says what's missing instead of placing anything:

ExamplePriya's first long

  • Priya has $250 available. She opens BTC at 80,000 and presses Long.
  • She sets 10×, types $100 in Your money: "Trades like $1,000 · 0.0125 BTC".
  • The summary shows Liquidation about 72,911, 8.9% below, and Most you can lose $100.
  • The footnote reads "Fee $0.45 · fills right away": Hyperliquid's base taker rate. On mainnet, Hypertake's 0.1% ($1.00) is charged on top.
  • She clicks Go long · $1,000. The order fills at once; her long appears under Positions with its entry and liquidation drawn on the chart.

Flow$100 of Priya's balance → 10× → $1,000 BTC long → fills at the best asks, no worse than 5% above the mid

Hypertake never places an order by itself: every order comes from your press, signed in your browser by your trading key and sent straight to Hyperliquid. The signed order is only valid for 60 seconds, so a request stuck on a bad connection can't land minutes later.
